Have you read "Cassandra and Jane" by Jill Pitkeathley? It should probably be categorized as "historical fiction". I enjoyed the book which I read while traveling--given what is known of Jane's personal life it seems a likely representation.

Its been several years since I picked up Celia Thaxter's "An Island Garden"--I remember prose, but not poetry. A quick look through my bookcase didn't produce my copy, which means it is down on the shelves in the storage shed. I dream of a room with wall to wall bookshelves and everything I own in alphabetical order.
We never worked our way through the list of places I hoped to visit in New England and the Maritimes--that island was one of them.

It was so nice that you, your sisters and mother could join us on the tour of Celia's garden on Appledore Island a couple of Thursdays ago. We sure enjoyed a day of nice weather once the fog lifted. Your pictures are lovely and your write up is great. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer. Again, it was nice meeting you and thanks for coming to spend time in Celia's garden.
