Do You See What I See?!!!

I was leaving school this evening, just before dark. It had been in the 40s most of the day (it's 46 right now), so the snow had been melting all day long, although I did see some snow flurries at one point. Anyway...I was going down the front steps and looked to my left and saw...(drum roll, please)...the yellowed tips of DAFFODILS!!!

I'm so excited! The snow melted down to the ground just outside the door, enough to give breathing room to the bulbs that had been growing all this time under dead leaves and cold snow. Suddenly the snow melts, and there they are. Such a beautiful miracle!

we are expecting 1-3 inches tonight. Such a weird winter.
Our wind chill is 21 right now and sleet is falling as I write. All this after my plum tree has blossomed out and spring flowers are everywhere

Just read the new GBA alumni newsletter. Wow! Great improvements. I actually enjoyed READING it instead of just scanning like I normally do with publications. Kudos to you!

What a great site to behold. I am going to pay more attention this year. It seems like one day we see the small shoots and the next day all the trees are budding! The sunshine was wonderful today. I am ready!

I saw some daffodils coming through the ground down at the Scarborough library this afternoon!! Nothing yet in my yard, though.
We should be getting our first robin this week, if they are on schedule. And boy, are they going to be disappointed when they see the snow still here.
