Black Bear, Bright fall colors

All these pictures from my sister have made me want to go to Calgary. I can't say I've thought a lot about it, even though we had Olympics there awhile ago. It's not quite as stunning in the winter I guess. Anyway, here are a couple more pictures from her visit.

Meanwhile, my other sister and I went up to see our parents yesterday for the afternoon. It was a beautiful day in Maine, and we spent a comfortable several hours in the backyard enjoying the sun, the birds, the fall colors just starting to show. They have 10 raspberry bushes that are just dripping with berries. We picked enough for each of us to bring home a couple of quarts and there were still plenty more left behind. Delicious!

Thank you for sharing the Calgary photos. It's been a long time since I've been there. It's the hometown of my sister in law, but since she lives in the PNW now, we don't 'go there' to see them any more. :) The black bear photo is especially magnificent! We're on our way to the mountains and cabin in a few minutes --- but I'm hoping I don't get that close to a bear (or cougar) there today!

Enjoy the rest of your week-end. So nice you could share time with your folks. I enjoyed the time we had here with mine.

I love fall raspberries but my canes did not produce a second crop this year because of our drought. Lovely pictures. I hope to get to Alberta and BC soon.

Beautiful photos of out west, but those raspberries look pretty good to me, too.
I have lived on both coasts and in the middle of the US, and I believe that Maine is one of our prettier states.

Sandy--I agree with you about Maine. I like visiting around the country, but I love coming home to New England.

Ruth--my parents' raspberry crop was great this year. Last year they had nothing. Go figure!

La Tea Day--I had a great and restful weekend. Hope your cabin time was good, too.
